Welcome to the Suncoast
A portion of southwest Florida from Tampa Bay to Charlotte Harbor, the
Suncoast consists of Sarasota County, Manatee County, and parts of
Charlotte County and Lee County.

Area Insight
The entire Suncoast is a water wonderland. We have the Gulf of Mexico, various bays, sounds, estuaries,
rivers, creeks, lakes, and ponds. These waters teem with fish, birds, and other aquatic wildlife. Daily sightings
include dolphins, manatees, brown pelicans, white pelicans, wood storks, bald eagles, ospreys, red shouldered
hawks, white ibis, glossy ibis, great blue herons, green herons, yellow crowned night herons, black crowned
night herons, great egret, snowy egret, cattle egret, sandhill cranes, stilts, oystercatchers, killdeer,
sandpipers, various woodpeckers, plovers, gallinules, moorhens, limpkins,(see photo below)
quail,
wild turkey, kites, kestrels, bitterns, ducks, anhinga, cormorants, terns, owls, raccoons, opossums, armidillo,
red fox, lynx, cougar, feral pigs, whitetail deer, and many others.
